The Schenectady County Public Library's Gift and Memorial Fund allows individuals, families and groups to contribute financially in honor or memory of a loved one. This is a wonderful way to commemorate those who have passed on; to celebrate special occasions; or to recognize friends, relatives, and colleagues. Monetary gifts help build and expand the Library's collections and benefit the entire community. Donations can be directed to the branch of your choice. Download the Gift and Memorial Fund Contribution form. Please be sure to make checks payable to Trustees, SCPL.

The Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library was organized in 1966 to enhance and support Library programs through donations of both time and money. By becoming a Friend of the Library, your annual membership contribution will help fund a variety of free public programs, and will also support staff training and workshops.
The Library accepts donations of books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, records and magazines. These items are added to the collection as needed or processed by the Friends of Library for sale at the Whitney Book Corner or at the semi-annual book sales. Profits from these sales help support collection development, library programming and staff development.
