We are excited to announce the launch of our new mobile app, which offers a variety of convenient features for library patrons. With the SCPL app, users can easily check their accounts, place holds, renew materials, access digital content, and find the nearest SCPL location along with our operating hours—right from your mobile devices.
This new app is a key part of SCPL’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and provide a more user-friendly experience. In 2024, we also launched a revamped website and catalog interface and expanded the total number of operating hours at its nine branch libraries.
“We’re committed to continually improving our services and exploring new ways to make the library even more accessible to all,” said Schenectady County Legislator Haileab Samuel, Chair of the Education & Libraries Committee. “With mobile devices becoming an essential part of our daily lives, this new app makes it easier than ever for our community to access library services and resources. Whether checking out digital content or finding the nearest branch, this app brings the library to your fingertips.”
Patrons can download the app here on a mobile device.
To access all features, users will need a valid SCPL card and their PIN.
